Elements

When you begin as a ninja here at Ninjavillage, after you make the decision of academy student or Genin, you have to decide which element you choose. Well, there are more choices than some of you may remember. Typically, you will start out with one element and then progress to other elements as you move on. Basically this is how things work here:

Academy Student/Genin: 1 Element
Chuunin:
Jounin: Gain 2nd Element
Higher Ranks: 1 More additional Element can be gained if you exceed Jounin, but that’s it.

Your Basic Choices as far as elements go are the following:

Fire (weak to Water)
Water (Weak to Earth)
Wind (Weak to Fire)
Earth (Weak to Lightning)
Lightning (Weak to Wind)

Now if you don’t want a basic element and want something else instead, these count as elements for all intents and purposes as well. They still only count as one element each.

Your Basic Non Element Choices are as follows:

Poison (Weak to Wood)
Shadow(Nara Clan Only) (Weak to Light)
Light(clan only) (Weak to Shadow)
Magnetism (Weak to Lightning)
Sound (Weak to Wind)
Medic (Pure chakra ability)
Undead(Weak to Fire, Water, and Holy)
Holy (Weak to Undead and Lightning)

ALL other Elements require KG to use. If you combine elements or use a different element for your clan KG you may be judged harder than normal.

Restricted things:
-A lot of Gaara’s techniques will NOT be allowed
-A lot of The Magnetic Kazekage’s techniques will NOT be allowed
-Some of your of Jutsu may not be allowed no matter how sneaky you try to be. Undead users cannot bring back the 4th hokage and force him to teach them the rasengan or any other jutsu for that matter. This is just an example of ways to abuse the system and how we won't tolerate it.

Element and Non element Descriptions

For those of you who look at this and wonder why its set up like this, that’s what this is here to explain just that. Basically, when you begin your quest here, you are going to be allowed to have an element at Genin rank. This is not exactly canon as not everyone is good at element training, but it is something we are allowing of course. Academy Students are also allowed to have an element, but again, it’s not canon but it’s the way we run things here.

Now then, you have a choice in the beginning. If it’s your first time RPing here, more than likely you won’t be given Admin permission to have an advanced trait. If you show poor RP skills you will also not be allowed an advanced trait. So you get to choose either one of the basic elements, or one of the non elements displayed there for you. I will go into some detail on each one to eliminate Confusion:

Fire: This element is known for its heat and burning ability. Fire techniques generally are not solid type techniques. Making anything solid out of fire would take the skills of a very well trained ninja. Things like fire clones do not exist currently for the reason that making them solid enough to be clones is near impossible. Fire users project their flame attacks normally through their own mouths.

Water: This element is known for its blue green clearish appearance. Water techniques normally function as quick attacks that turn back into puddles for later use. Water users cannot typically project water from their own bodies until B rank. Until then they must rely on nearby sources of water.

Wind: This element is invisible unless you can see the effects it makes on objects around you. Wind is typically one of the more rare elements because it can be the hardest element to master. Most wind attacks involve in turning the very air into a blade to hit the opponent with, or to create gusts that spin an opponent off target.

Earth: This element is best known for its use in walking on. The very ground is used against the opponent in battle, making things quite shaky indeed. Users of earth techniques tend to have more defensive and trap type techniques available than offensive abilities.

Lightning: This element is well known for its speed and bright light. Users of this element tend to use attacks that shock the opponent, quite literally. However, most people with this element tend to prefer using Taijutsu with small burst of lightning in their attacks to stun opponents.

Poison: In most cases, ninja who use poison don’t use ninjutsu poison techniques. The typical methods are weapons with poison on them, gas, or in rare cases from the user themselves. Poison can be used to mess with an opponent’s head or to weaken their bodies. Puppet users tend to use Poison in their attacks.

Shadow: Ah, the wonderful Nara clan and their special one of a kind breed of Shadow techniques. Shadow techniques are based around holding onto the opponent’s shadow while performing a series of other shadow techniques to knock the opponent out without a whole lot of fighting. Nara clan members can be known to use a lot of weapons to combine with their shadow abilities.

Light: This Non element is known for its blinding abilities. Those who manipulate light can blind the opponent or surprise them. These users will tend to specialize in Taijutsu to make up for their lack of powerful hitting jutsu.

Holy: This Non element is of a divine nature. Focused on the powers of divine light and More powerful Medical jutsu, this affinity is for those who are more clerical and helpful in nature, rather than battle participants.

Magnetism: This ability allows the user to control magnetic metals. Those who depend on this means of battle tend to specialize in Ninjutsu, and use large amounts of metal bits to utilize many powerful metal attacks.

Sound: Not a real jutsu style, and extremely rare to be able to utilize. Most people who use the sound as a weapon need special tools like musical instruments. These people who use Sound normally specialize in Genjutsu or Puppetry. Those who use it as a physical attack tend to need special surgeries to perform the techniques.

Medic Not a real Jutsu style, but rather a specific means of controlling pure chakra to heal or harm people. Those who become medics tend to specialize in healing type techniques only, and join teams as the team medic to keep its members healthy.

Undead: This ability seems to have a lot of basis in earth affinity, however it is basically its own category because its centralized around using Necromancy. Users of this can raise the dead it would seem in some fashions. Most techniques are ‘summons’ however at lower ranks, higher ranks involve using corpses and souls.

Sand: Sand is not its own class of affinity. Wind or Earth users manipulate sand in attacks. Gaara is wind affiliated, which is why he can do things that cause sand to float, while and earth based sand user would do things like make sand grab opponent’s feet. Remember, Sand is NOT an affinity, but it is its own special brand of jutsu. Sand is allowed but is very limited. Sand is also used in conjunction with Glass element.
